How to Find Happy Dogs

From Greenville/Atlanta on I-85 North

  • Take EXIT 66, the US 29 exit, toward Wellford/Spartanburg West, keep left on ramp.
  • At the end of the ramp turn left toward Wellford/Lyman.
  • Turn Left onto Greenville Hwy/US-29 S.
  • Turn right onto Syphrit Rd.
  • Turn left onto Carver St, Carver St. is just past Astor St.
  • If you reach Brook St., you have gone about 0.3 miles too far.

From Charlotte

  • Take I 85 toward Greenville/Spartanburg
  • Take EXIT 66, US-29 toward Lyman/Wellford, at the end of ramp turn right.
  • Turn right onto Syphrit Rd.
  • Turn left onto Carver St.

From Columbia, SC

  • Take I 26 West Toward Spartanburg
  • Merge onto US-29 South viz Exit 21A toward Greer.
  • Turn right onto Syphrit Rd.
  • Turn Left onto Carver Street.
  • Turn left onto Carver St.
  • If you reach Brook St., you have gone about 0.3 miles too far.


From Asheville, NC

  • Take I-26 toward I-40
  • Take EXIT 10; the SC-292 exit toward Inman.
  • Turn Right onto Highway 292/SC-292 continue to follow SC-292.
  • Turn Left onto N. Main St. /SC 292 continue to follow SC-292.
  • Turn left onto Bobo Rd. Bobo Rd. becomes Carver St.

Where to Stay in the Area

For those of you who are traveling from out-of-town, the following is a list of hotels in the area. If you are looking for an Air BNB or VERBO rentall, I would suggest looking in the Greer, Duncan and Spartanburg in addition to Wellford. Wellford is a small town without many options for food or lodging but these other town are a short drive from our facility.

Happy Dogs Housekeeping

Dogs should be comfortable working in new environment and around unfamiliar dogs and people. Participants are responsible for supervision and control of their dog during the event and while on the premises.

Owner/handler must supervise and maintain control of their dog while on premises of Happy Dogs Training Center.

Dogs must be crated unless (a) working in ring; (b) near ring because they are next team to work. Crates should be secured on all sides and the top.

Dogs should be in good health, injury free and current on vaccinations (titers accepted) including Bordetella.

Dog nails must be kept trimmed to avoid damage to mats and possible injury to dog.

No overnight RV parking or tent camping on Happy Dogs Training Center property without advance approval.

Participants are required to provide a protective floor covering large enough to fit under their crate AND chair. Chairs may shift during the day, participants should make sure all four legs of their chair remain on the floor covering at all times.

Participants must clean up after their dogs and dispose of waste. The designated potty area is located at the back corner of the parking lot.. Do not use the trash cans in the building for waste. Please discard of waste outside in the waste receptacle in the potty area.

Do not allow your dog to urinate on the lawn directly in front of the building, the flowerpots or the dog waste receptacle. If an accident occurs, please clean it up.
