A Day with AKC Obedience Judge, Susan Oviatt Harris
Do you lose points because of handling errors? Are you sure you even know when a judge has deducted points for your handling? It’s not always what you think! We sometimes make handling errors – and don’t even realize it. Attend this seminar with an AKC Obedience Judge to learn about the most common handling errors, how to avoid them and how to maximize your scores.
About Susan Oviatt-Harris: Susan is from Castle Rock Colorado. She has been judging AKC obedience trials for almost 40 years.
What to Expect: Susan’s presentation will include a discussion of all the obedience exercises according to the AKC rules. Drawing upon her experience as a judge, she will talk about the types of errors she commonly sees in the ring and suggest ways to avoid these handling errors. When helpful, an exercise will be demonstrated so Susan can provide feedback on handling issues. If you would like to volunteer to demonstrate an exercise and get Susan’s feedback, please feel free to bring you dog.
